Audio Server: six channels driven over MQTT
An audio playback server with a control interface, designed to be driven remotely through a message broker.
In brief
- Audio Server handles six fixed audio channels, played simultaneously and controlled from a single interface.
- For each active channel it shows the group, the file playing and the volume in real time; when the channel frees up, the row empties.
- Each channel stops on its own, without touching the others.
- A global volume acts on the whole playback, and an indicator shows whether the connection to the MQTT broker is live.
What it is
Audio Server holds six playback channels, numbered 0 to 5, and presents them in a table that is a snapshot of what is playing right now. Each row corresponds to a channel and gives the group it belongs to, the file playing and the volume; when playback finishes and the channel goes free, the row empties, so the interface never shows stale information.
Next to each row there is a stop control that halts only that channel: that is the difference between switching off one source and stopping the whole system. The general volume is set with a single slider that reflects the current value.
The connection to the broker
The connection to the MQTT broker, which is the channel the server receives its commands through, is shown by a two-state indicator: green when the connection is live and red when it has dropped.
There is a command to disconnect from the broker and a reset command that returns the program to its initial state. The audio device in use is stated plainly in the header, with its corresponding number.

Do you need software like this?
If you have a process you handle by hand today and would like to automate, tell me about it: we work out together whether it makes sense to build a tool on top of it.
Need something similar? This project is an example of desktop app development. The first meeting and the quote are free: write to me and we will talk it through.
